At Wilkins RV, we understand that some customers find it challenging to choose the perfect RV. That’s why we do our best to learn how you plan on using your RV and what features are most important to you and your family. Over the last 80 years, we’ve sold many impressive RV brands. Today, we want to shine a spotlight on one of our favorite models from Jayco.
If you’ve shopped for a travel trailer, you’ve probably heard of Jayco. The brand has been manufacturing some of the most popular RVs since 1968. One model in particular, the Jay Flight, has stood out.

2023 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 8 Floor Plans
Jayco offers eight floor plans, including three new ones for the 2023 model year. You can sleep up to 14 people depending on the model. Jayco refreshed the interior with two new designs — Modern Farmhouse and Classic Cottage. This double-axle 8-foot-wide trailer has the durable construction to last a lifetime outfitted with the creature comforts you crave. We’ve highlighted some of our favorites:
Jay Flight SLX 8 240RBS
One of three new floor plans, the 240RBS sleeps four people and features a slide-out outdoor kitchen with a sink and refrigerator plus a 16-foot awning shading the doorway set to the rear. As you enter the trailer, you have a walk-in closet to your right and a spacious bathroom to the left, which stretches across the entire back end. The bathroom includes a walk-in shower, linen closet, toilet, and sink.
Opposite the doorway is a slide-out section containing dual theater seats facing the entertainment center and a pantry and refrigerator. Your indoor L-shaped kitchen with sink, range, and overhead microwave rests along the opposite wall. Finally, the master bedroom sits at the front of the trailer with a queen bed framed by slide-out sections containing wardrobes and a sliding door for privacy.
Jay Flight SLX 8 263RBS
This new floor plan has similar features to the 240RBS, but the slide-out portion houses a jack-knife sofa and dinette. You lose the walk-in closet, but it’s replaced by a larger entertainment center. The L-shaped indoor kitchen runs from the entertainment center to the master bedroom.
The bathroom occupies the back of the trailer and upgrades to a tub/shower. The master bedroom sits at the front. One significant difference is a second door that enters directly into the private master bedroom with slide-out sections housing wardrobes on both sides. Outside, you have a 16-foot awning and an outdoor refrigerator.
Jay Flight SLX 8 295BHS
The last of the new floor plans, the 295GHS, sleeps 10 people and offers a long 20-foot awning and a single door. As you enter, the kitchen runs along the wall to your right, while the entertainment center is built into an angled wall. A double bunk sleeps four in the back next to the bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet.
The slide-out section across from the door and the kitchen holds the dinette and jack-knife sofa. Inside the front master bedroom, you have the wardrobes to either side of the queen bed plus a walk-in closet.
Jay Flight SLX 8 212QB
On the outside, you have a 16-foot awning providing shade around the single entry door. The 212QB floor plan comes with your choice of Classic Cottage or Modern Farmhouse interior. The layout sleeps up to five people. A queen bed in the front master bedroom sleeps two, while the jackknife sofa bed and convertible dinette at the rear of the trailer sleep three when not in use.
This open floor plan has a full bathroom with a tub/shower, sink, and toilet centrally located on one wall. Next to the bathroom, you have your refrigerator and pantry, and across from these, you have a three-burner range with an overhead microwave next to your dual sink. You get beautiful hardwood cabinetry above the dinette, sofa, and sink. Plus, the master bedroom features a wardrobe on either side of the bed and a convenient shelf above.
Jay Flight SLX 8 224BH
This Jay Flight model features an outside kitchen with a refrigerator and sink plus a 13-foot awning over the single entry door. Inside, the floor plan sleeps up to eight people. The front master bedroom sleeps two, the convertible dinette in the middle sleeps two, and the rear double bunks sleep four.
Next to the dinette is the pantry, and across from it is your range, microwave, and sink. Of course, you get hanging hardwood cabinets and wardrobes throughout the trailer.
Jay Flight SLX 8 324BDS
One of the most spacious models, the 324BDS features two slide-out sections. The one in the main living area holds a dinette and a jack-knife sofa. The one in the back bedroom holds a top bunk atop a futon sofa. In this back sleeping area, you also have a standard bunk bed and an accordion door for privacy.
This dual-entry trailer has one door to the main living area and a second directly into the bathroom. Across from the dinette, you have your indoor kitchen, and an entertainment center rests along the master bedroom wall with a sliding door to either side.
