Best for first-time RV owners, families, and couples who want to enjoy modern conveniences like full bathrooms and cooking areas, these trailers make it easy to break into the RV life without having to break the bank or give up amenities that make traveling and camping fun. Grand Design has several lines of travel trailers, including Transcend, Transcend One, Transcend Xplor, Imagine, Imagine XLS, Imagine AIM, Serenova, and Reflection.

Towing Capabilities: Many models are designed to be lightweight enough to be pulled behind SUVs, crossovers, or half-ton trucks, typically 3,500-10,000 lbs GVWR.

Sleeping Capacity: Typically 2-10 people.

Best Features: You can choose from flexible floor plans with full or micro kitchens, including refrigerators, a full bathroom, spacious living areas with comfortable seating, and plenty of storage.

Toy Hauler Travel Trailers

Grand Design also offers a Momentum line of toy hauler travel trailers, called Momentum Mav and Momentum G-Class, for active couples or groups who want to bring their ATVs, dirt bikes, kayaks, or other gear along on their trips, but are looking for a trailer that’s easier to tow.

Towing Capabilities: Similar to standard travel trailers, but with added weight from the garage in back; can usually be towed by half-ton or larger trucks, typically 7,000-14,000 lbs GVWR.

Sleeping Capacity: Typically up to 6 people.

Best Features: These toy haulers have robust construction features to withstand tough terrain and weather conditions. Many models have a separate sleeping area, a small kitchen, comfortable sitting areas, and a drop-down rear ramp for easy loading.

Fifth Wheels

Fifth wheels are a great option for active families, couples, or large groups who want to enjoy residential-style living and plan seasonal camping or extended trips in their RV. Grand Design’s Momentum series of toy hauler fifth wheels is great for RVers who love to adventure on camping trips or road trips. Their floor plans are very spacious and have a designated area in the back for your cargo. Most cargo areas can accommodate equipment such as jet skis, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, four-wheelers, motorcycles, kayaks, bicycles, or paddleboards. Towing Capabilities: Towed with a fifth wheel hitch; built for heavier loads, typically 12,000-20,000 lbs GVWR.

Grand Design’s Lineage series includes a Super C category option that was built on a stronger chassis, making them ideal for better fuel efficiency, torque, and quieter performance.

Towing Capabilities: No towing required; some models may be able to tow a small car or trailer behind. Offers a stronger chassis for towing, making it excellent for hills and highways.

Sleeping Capacity: Typically 2-5 people.

Best Features: Standard Class C - Diesel motor homes feature more compact layouts, but still have great amenities like comfortable seating areas, small kitchens, a full bathroom, and a sleeping area. Super C - Diesel motor homes have more spacious layouts that include options for washer/dryer areas and more storage.
